What is Chipp’d?

How much does the app cost?

The Chipp’d app is free to download in the App Store and Google Play.

How do I create an account?

Creating an account is quick and easy. All you need to do is fill out our Sign Up form using the free Android or iOS app and enter your first and last name, email, mobile number, and create a username and password.

Pages

What comes first: the product or the page?

Ah, the age-old question. The answer is: Either! You can create a page and save it as a draft to attach to a product or custom code later, or you can activate a product and add content to your page.

Do my pages expire? How long will my pages exist?

Your pages will exist as long as Chipp’d exists, granted you don’t delete them on your own.

What types of content can I add to a page?

Chipp’d currently lets you add video, audio, photo, and text to your pages. 

Privacy

Is content really private/secure?

Yes, to an extent. We do everything that we can to keep your pages private. However, if you share your personal information with others or keep your phone unattended and unlocked, there isn’t much we can do to prevent others from seeing your pages.

What are the different privacy levels?

There are four different privacy settings: Open, Controlled, Need to Know, and Top Secret.

* Open allows anyone to see your page using any QR code reader or browser.
* Controlled is viewable by anyone with a Chipp’d account.
* Need to Know is only viewable by the people you choose, and they only have to scan your QR code or enter a passcode the first time they access your page.
* Top Secret is only viewable by the people you choose, and they have to scan your QR code or enter a passcode each time they want to view your page.

Sharing

Can I attach the same page to multiple products/codes?

Yes. When you activate a product, you are asked whether or not you want to connect that code to an existing page or create a new one. You can add an existing page to as many codes as you want.

Can I share my page with people who don’t use Chipp’d?

You can share your page with anyone, but they may have to sign up for a Chipp’d account to see it depending on your privacy setting. The only privacy setting you can use that will allow people without a Chipp’d account to view your page is the Open setting.

What if the person with whom I want to share pages doesn’t have a smartphone?

You can still share your page with someone who doesn’t have a smartphone using the URL associated with your page. Your recipient may need to enter a passcode, depending on your privacy setting.
